Whoooo! We are one month closer to our lovely out of town date weekend. We had our choice of 3 hotels in the area where his cousin is getting married. I didn't choose the Hilton Head rentals because they were out of our price range this time. I got something nice, but well within our budget down the road a bit. I think it's more economical to put our money into the activities that we are going to find out there. I think I want to visit Martha's Vineyard. That would be so awesome.
The planning has begun for our next trip to Puerto Rico. This time we would get twelve full days + 2 days of travel. That's right a 2 week vacation. I can hardly contain my joy. We are planning it for early April...so the day after hubby's birthday and I would still be down there for my birthday on the 11th.
What do I want to do? I plan to hit up Mayaguez again to see the lovely Luna Lunera. I also want to see more of the sights of Puerto Rico the second week we are there. The first week will be full of family like last time. This time we get a week all to ourselves (for the most part). I love that. The kid is learning more Spanish but he is reluctant. Why? I don't know. When he gets back to PR he will be 5 years old and I am sure that the other kids will teach him some things while he is there.
I, on the other hand, am trying to brush up on Spanish *again* and remember more this time than last time. I hope that I retained something. It hasn't been THAT long since last I was surrounded by Spanish. I also love that everyone talks slowly to me b/c I am an outsider. It's heaps of fun.
If you had a time machine, which year would you travel to and why?

If I had a time machine I would go back to the year Christ was born so I could see Him as a baby. Then I would go up to when He did the sermon on the Mount and stick around for the miracle of the fish and loaves. I would probably seek out one of the woman apostles so I could peek over their shoulders.
Next I would get myself up to when Helen of Troy and Cleopatra were around. I would have to see them in all their radiant glory.
I think I would be pretty content with that trip. I might make a few other stops as I thought of them. Like, I would probably go slap Sacajawea for what she was about to do by leading Lewis and Clark farther inland, probably take my time to go see what all my ancestors were doing in NJ. Yeah, that would be awesome. Make some resemblance checks, you know, to see how much I really look like my full blooded ancestors.
Where is the farthest you have ever been away from home? Did you get homesick?

Puerto Rico is the farthest I have been from home. I didn't get homesick, didn't have the time. I was having too much fun in the hot beauty that is PR.
Worried that my therapist thinks that l dont think my son is important. *tears*

How awesome would it be if I could visit all the places in the world that I would like to go? I don't think I can save enough to do it all before I turn 60, though HAHA. I can only hope and pray that one day we are just set like that through my husband's work, my son's success... you know? I don't believe that I myself would make that much dough alone. Not at this stage in my life anyway. I can't wait for the day I can just book the trip, pack the Samsonites, and go on my merry little trips. So, who will be travel companion? My husband. My son. My mother, sometimes. Once in a while I would like to go with a friend, you know?
I was talking to my mother yesterday and she was talkigna bout where she would like to go to get away. I was surprised to find that she thought a trip to a Vermont bed and breakfast sounded like fun. I would love to be the one to treat her to it. We would have a blast. It already takes us about a half an hour to say goodbye on the phone. HAHA. How I love my mom!
