What was the best thing about your weekend?
I got to spend time with some of my favorite people this weekend. Here they are in list form, but in random order:
Mom
Dad
Sister V
Husband
The Kid
Miss Mary
Bradrian (brian/adrian)
And we partied...and we had an awesome time. I met new people this weekend, too.
What is your legacy?

I don't think I have one yet (other than my gorgeous son)...but I am working on it (ministry wise) :)
What do you find interesting or unique about your family history?
My family is very interesting and very unique. We can trace our ancestors back to nearly the beginning. We have a tie in to Pocahontas (the traitor). We have a number of crazies in our family that have done some crazy things ie committed suicide. My blood line runs through an active tribe that I get to participate in on a regular basis. There are a lot of things I could say about my family history. ;)
What does blogging do for you?

Funny you should ask. I was just asking myself the same question. Am I just an attention seeker? Am I just conceited enough to believe that people actually care about all the crap I expound on in my blogs?
It is a release. It helps me stay outside of my comfort zone, stretching myself to learn about others as I learn about myself. I cannot be "one person" when I blog. I am not all alone. I am held accountable in some cases. It does a lot for me. Helps me to live a more full life. Funny how a little piece of webspace can do so much.
What have you been putting off all weekend?
Work...and now I am trying to catch up. I hate playing catch up. I actually had no real choice in the matter. What was I going to do? Work on vacation? Does that make any sense?
What is a childhood memory that still haunts you?
What a question to ask. There are many. They are not pretty. Like when I nearly drowned in a pool when I was 8. When I narrowly escaped 2 dogs that were trying to rip out my throat when I was 9. The day my uncle tried to kill me when I was 3. The fist fight with my too close for comfort relative when I was 13. The day my favorite cat died. The day my beloved dog died... both happened when I was in 6th grade. The teasing, taunts, and jeers of my peers. The first time someone called me the N word when I was in 7th grade. The car accident that I predicted, but was unheeded at 11. Molestation when I was 10,11, 12, 13...Rape at 15... yeah.. lots of haunting incidents.
What's the hardest part about the role you play in your family?
As my buddy trappedinthemindofinvsiblegirl so eloquently put it, being a mother is an all the time job unless your kids are with others such as grandparents... being a mother is the hardest job I have ever done...and I was mostly in customer service when I worked outside the home. This is like customer service to the tenth power of infinity.
Being a wife isn't easy all the time, either. Having to BE all the time is not easy. Sometimes you wish you could just be nothing so you can get a rest from life... but not for long. I wouldn't give up the life I have with my family for anything.
Yesterday was the summer solstice for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. How did you celebrate the arrival of summer and the longest day of the year?
Well I did 8 loads of laundry while my son played with the next door neighbor's children. Then we went over to their apartment for a cake cutting as the littlest one turned a year old. I had some lovely cake, and continued to do laundry while they all trooped over to the park next door. I was just finishing when they returned. That was what I did with my day. I was happy no one came to close the laundry room on time so I could get my stuff out first.
What did you learn in kindergarten that you wish you did a better job of applying to the way you live your life today?
TBQH, I didnt learn a whole lot in Kindergarten. My mom had taught me most of it at home already. So what did I learn?
Homeschooling is the way to go
