I just found out this morning that my mother in law, who is in Puerto Rico for my grandmom in law, is in the hospital with a re-ruptured spleen or blood clot. I'm like HOLY CRAP! I wish that the doctors would go in and put a cap on this already. I mean, dang. If they had just done her surgery over here like they were supposed to, there wouldn't have been anything to re-aggravate. If they had just done the surgery on my grandmother in law like they were supposed to, maybe my mom in law wouldn't have had to move around so much as to have her body react this way. I am so mad about it. I hope someone gets sued or pays for this, because it is just needless pain for my mother in law, and us.
My mother in law is out of the hospital. She signed herself out after 2 weeks of waiting to see what was going to happen. She got sick of it, so she decided to go home and rest up. There are still issues, but she is being careful and trying not to overexert herself.
When the Bush administration decided to try to redefine abortion to include birth control, they didn't expect what happened last Wednesday.
Over 325,000 petition signatures were hand-delivered to their door by MoveOn members and our partners at Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Check out some of the photos and news headlines from the event in the box on the right.1
The next step is to apply more pressure—so the Bush Administration knows they haven't weathered the storm. Bush's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) just kicked off a 30-day period to consider public input on this issue before making a final decision.
Can you contact the HHS today and tell them not to change the abortion "rules"? Tell them that the American people oppose any proposal that jeopardizes access to basic women's health, including birth control.
Here's where to submit a comment:

They played word games—keeping in many of the same bad provisions that hurt women's access to basic health care, but changing the language to make it less understandable by regular people.
Bush's HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt wrote a blog post saying redefining abortion wasn't his "intent" behind the new regulation.1 But Women's Health News points out that, "Regardless of intent, the regulation certainly could functionally allow the defining of contraceptives as abortion."2It's important the Bush administration knows the public is watching.
Can you contact the HHS today?
Thanks for all you do.–Nita, Adam G., Ilyse, Patrick S., and the rest of the team

Since starting FLYing with FLYlady, I have been changing a number of things about me. This past week, I did fall down a few days. My knees hated me and wouldn't let me walk very well or stand for any length of time (see Osgood Schlatter's disease). My morning routine has actually saved my sanity in many cases. For instance, in the morning I get up, get myself together (including doing my hair, using various skin care products, and getting dressed) before I really start my day. I can't tell you how many days I have sat here in my pajamas until I have a reason to get dressed. I didn't realize how much of my continual depression perpetuated itself in the way I took care of myself. I mean, when you are depressed you don't WANT to get dressed, but this routine MAKES you, all the way down to tie up shoes. I thought she was off her knot when she said that morning routines change your life, but she was right. She was sooooo right!
Now is the time to get your mind in gear. May 1st marks the beginning of Mental Health Month. It is the prime opportunity for many to get the help they need. Whether it be alcohol rehab, talk therapy, drug rehab, or whatever the need is.. it is all for the good of mental health. I am celebrating on my podcast on Monday as well as going to my therapist that morning. Happy Mental Health people!
Quick someone call a massage therapy professional STAT! It burns! Oh it burns so bad. It's the muscle right where you leg meets your body in the front. I stretched wrong or something. It has been hurting for days. I injured it worse last night when I moved wrong. Oh pain! O agony! Oh HELP! I can't stay still now. My son is back! I can't wait for this hurt to cease.
I have been looking into various helps for my mother and her family since all these health issues began to rise. My father has Alzheimer's and my mother needs her medical treatments for her knees. I believe that my father is still covered by the state and whatnot due to his disability and retirement plans, but my mother is not. I am still looking for some sort of affordable health insurance for her. Whether or not I find it is irrelevant, because prayer covers everything. So if I could get some good prayer going for their health, strength, and for doors to be open where they were once shut in their faces I would appreciate it. So much is going on that I can't say, but they need all the prayers they can get. Thanks.
I was glad for the explanations and pose guide. Sometimes you just don't know what they want from you when you are doing yoga from TV. I won't have that problem anymore. I also enjoyed the different levels of yoga. You can start from basic and move to intermediate. Each session is broken up in a way that you are able to stop at any time you feel you have done enough, and still feel as though you have done a complete session. My son did the exercises with me on the first level and was able to do most of the poses for about 20 of the close to 40 minutes of the session. We were both calmer after that. We were also tired! The workout on the yoga dvd is vigorous and challenging. I love it and will be using it often.
I know there are at least a few people who come by my blog that have at one time or another been exposed to asbestos. Even people who have come into contact with the car brakes that used to be made from asbestos should make it a point to get checked for mesothelioma. My husband gets checked semi-regularly as he used to work in asbestos at construction sites. I think it's important to try and keep an eye on things like this. You just never know... so it's good to get checked and make sure that you are safe.
Check out the new edition, first one of the year. This one is talking about dealing with children and your own mental issues. It's a doozie. Make sure to take a listen.
