What's your favorite ingredient to cook with?
My all time favorite ingredient... if you can call it that...
VEGGIES!!! I adore them! They make everything awesome.
I am about to post one of my favorite reviews of all time. It will be on my http://kingzjewel.mindsay.com blog in just a few more minutes. It's all about the new G Broil Supremo that I got to test out with my family. Talk about falling in love with technology!
YES! I cannot WAIT!!!! I adore the fact that my husband's job gives a free turkey for Christmas AND Thanksgiving. I am thrilled to pieces to look up new things to make for my guests. From holiday appetizers to exciting twists to our traditional main dishes, I am all gung-ho about it. I have to wonder how the holidays will work this year, though. We don't really know how my mother in law will be by then, or what will be going on with my sister and her baby (she is due in October)... but believe me, if I can have at least one family holiday party here, I will be extremely stoked! Viva los holidays! *you know you like my spanglish :P*
This morning I decided to try out my industrial strength (almost, anyway) mixer. OMG that thing is awesome. It will be so handy when I make huge batches of pancakes, any cookies, and especially cakes! I might keep my little nearly dead one for smaller jobs like a small batch of pancakes. It doesn't require much push or power to do those, but when Cookie season comes back around again, I will be ready. Thanks to my mother for getting me the one thing I actually verbally asked for by name for my birthday!

getting rid of most of the leftovers in my fridge:
priceless
now i am contemplating a cranberry sauce, french vanilla cool whip, egg nog ice cream dessert. I also have corn bread. I see a "cranberry shortcake" in my future.
I decided to do a melding of peppers and steak and stuffed peppers to make this culinary delight:
Tonight we will be having the turkey soup that I started in the crock pot last night. YUMMY
For a full sit-down dinner with several guests, would you rather be the one cooking or do you prefer to just show up and eat?
Depends on who the guests will be and who would be cooking. I enjoy making large dinners for my family + my mother/father/sisters/cousins/aunts. It's great to see their faces contort in sheer delight when they taste my latest cooking creation.
I decided after my stressful week I should make myself a treat. What do you think I did? Baked cake. I decided to use the yogurt I have here. I had been saving it for something really good, since my husband likes the whips and I accidentally bought a few regular mixed berry yogurts. I found a Yogurt Cake Recipe I liked and now I can smell it baking in the oven. I had a bit more batter than I anticipated, so cupcakes are in the works, too.
