Hello all. As you know, I have taken a special interest in the Jena 6. Unfortunately, racism is prevalent today nearly as much as it was many years ago. This isn't an isolated incident, but one that never got national recognition. I hope that these articles will help to keep you aware of the horrendous treatment that people are still having to endure in our world today. The main focus is the Jena 6, but there are other atrocities that are being spoken out against in this carnival.

The Jena 6 issue has drawn the attention of a few stars like Mos Def, rapper and activist...and even David Bowie has sent aid for the fair treatment of these boys.

Marcus Williford presents Support the Jena (Louisiana) 6 posted at My Thoughts, in support for fair treatment of the Jena 6.

Skeet presents Justice is not blind in Jena, Louisiana posted at Skeet's Stuff. In this article we can see that "True justice turns a blind eye to race, prosperity and background, weighing only the merits of each case. It doesn't work that way in Jena, Louisiana."

Cheryl presents Jena 6 posted at Basenji Mom. Very opinionated and open. A must read.

Amy presents Racism in the deep South: Jena 6 Travesty at Whatever I Feel Like. This post is aptly filed under "freakin idiot", as it is easy to see how idiotic this case has been handled from day one.

Tim takes a Time Out to talk about the Jena 6 at Bloggerista.

Karen says This Can't Be Happening at ChatBug Karen. It boggles the minds of many that something as atrocious as this is still occurring in our every day world.

And of course Marisa and myself have already posted our views on the Jena 6 issue.

Thankfully, our voices are being heard. Mychal has had his charges lowered a bit so that he is being charged as a juvenile and not an adult. I pray that we see more progress on the 20th march through Jena.

Jon Swift presents Are We Tasering People Enough? posted at Jon Swift, saying, "The police would never have tasered a liberal disturbing a speech by a conservative. Because conservatives are treated like second-class citizens in our society and women refuse to date them, at least judging by his experience, conservatives are the only people who ever get tasered." Interesting article, worth reading.


That concludes this edition of the Carnival of Injustice. I would like to say that I hope we never have to do this again, but injustice runs rampant all around the world.
